Well, all five entrants were great - some made me laugh and some impressed me by their efforts. But since I am the sole judge and this is a totally subjective decision, I choose:
John Bell:
Miasma: "This time of year, miasma really bothers me".
I choose John not only because his sentence made me smile, but because he was the first one to dare to participate. Thank you, John, you can tell all your friends at work tomorrow that you are the first ever winner of the Weekend Word competition. Yeah, that is your prize.
