Understand how "demand-actuated" traffic signals work. These are traffic lights that will only turn green when a vehicle is sensed ~ ~ ~ ~

As kids we use to blow at the red lights to make them green if you drove the city streets and the lights were timed and had a driver who decided to play along by adjusting there speed it actually worked.
